BUT our American guts succumbed to food poisoning. Well, Dan’s did. Poor guy.
Was it the chicken leg at the Mercado?
Was it the watery scrambled eggs at breakfast?
Was it the cold quiche in the airport lounge?
Was it the tap water accidentally swallowed while brushing our teeth?
Was it all of that combined with 15 hours of travel on buses, airplanes, and boats?
I guess we’ll never know. We’re in the Galapagos now and the timing couldn’t have been better. I’m serious though. We’re posted up at a beautiful hotel with 12 acres of trails, a hammock overlooking the daisy tree forest, wild tortoises, a pool, a restaurant onsite, and the softest TP of all the places we’ve stayed at so far. We have a ton of activities planned for the Galapagos, including an 8 day cruise to other islands, so this was our plan all along – to post up, hang out, and enjoy the sounds and sites from this property. Good timing Dan. Turns out, we’re lucky after all.
